Overview
All the data of a Nexus instance is contained into a single .json file – a human-readable text format.
The general procedure consists of two steps:
- generating the .json file
- uploading it on a server – alongside media files if any.
The server hosting the files must allows for external requests, or other people won’t be able to display your Nexus.
Nexus CMS
Setup a Nexus powered website under 1 minute.
- Create and edit Nexus instances, with the reader app and theme of your choice.
- Additionnally create and edit custom web pages, with any kind of content.
- The web pages and Nexus .json source files are automatically built and deployed.
Step-by-step install, user guide, and more: check the docs.
Starter Kits
These starter kits are a more minimalist solution than Nexus CMS.
They are not required in any way, but can help if you’re feeling a bit lost. They each have a dedicated read me.
- Apache Starter
If you already have a website on a shared web hosting plan, this will probably be the right starter kit for you. - GitHub Starter
GitHub Pages allow for external requests, and are free. This solution especially makes sense if you use Git.
Nexus IO Editor
On any page using the default app, Nexus IO, you can load a Nexus Editor.
You’ll then be able to create or load a Nexus file, edit and preview it, then save it on your computer.
- All infos are in the user guide.
